What Are Cookies?

Cookies store information, such as your Site ID, UserID, and your Workgroup or Project. When you log into Business Browser, these cookies let us know whether you have logged into Business Browser recently. If you’ve been away from your machine for a while, it will re-enter your login information so you don’t have to.
We also use cookies to "remember" what you do while in Business Browser. For example, if you are using Find Companies to screen for companies in an industry and in a certain 3-digit ZIP code, the cookie file lets the Business Browser software "remember" that you have already limited the companies to those in, for example, Broadcast and Cable, so that when you screen for the companies in your area, you get a smaller set. Without cookies, you could only screen either in an industry or a ZIP code, not both.

Cookies do not store sensitive information, and cannot transmit information to us.
If you are receiving messages about setting cookies, and you do not want to, you can turn off cookie notification while using Business Browser. In Netscape 4.x, under Edit, Preferences, click on Advanced, then, under Cookies, choose "Accept all Cookies." In Internet Explorer 4.x, under View, Internet Options, on the Advanced tab, under Security, choose "Always Accept Cookies." If you are concerned about receiving cookies from other sites, you can turn this function back on when you have finished using Business Browser. In Internet Explorer, go to View, open Options, and select Advanced. Make sure that "Warn before accepting ‘cookies’" does not have a checkmark before it. If it does, click it and the checkmark will go away.
